Minutes Of Session on 30th March'15

The session began after everyone had assembled in the Vaughn Seminar Hall at 4:45-ish, on a day which had heavily overcast conditions for summer. First off, Shrey began with a small talk on how Linkedin Pulse emerged just from the mere developmental interests of an IIT student… how, Ankit Gupta, who was a computer science student of IIT Bombay with an interest in consultation co-founded Linkedin Pulse by collaborating with a like minded person, Akshay Kothari.
After this inspirational story, we moved into an emotional story by Thanuja titled, “Something more than love”which made us understand that a parent’s feeling towards their child is too small for a word like love.
People divided into their respective platforms and continued on their journey to push their success to greater levels and progress to greater achievements.
With 20 minutes left in the session, we regrouped into one to serve as an audience for a hilarious skit by Laghu-Chitra team. The skit depicted how a Telanagana survey official had to meet different kinds of people for the survey- A person who had 15 cows as a family, a person who was so addicted to Facebook he logged in every morning and finally Anil Lambani, a person who is super rich but doesn’t want to show it. A very good performance.
The session concluded with a small speech by our faculty guide for the day, Mrs. Vinnita Kamali, who encouraged us to explore the potentials of more people in our college. The session ended with a bang!!… on the dias platform.

This is the third film in development for the Robert Downey Jr. film series based on the character written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Sherlock Holmes. This movie has Ian McKellan play a 93 year-old version of Mr. Holmes taking on one last case he couldn’t solve before.

9. Jurassic World

Cast: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Judy Greer, Jake Johnson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Omar Sy, Brian Tee, Irrfan Khan, BD Wong, Ty Simpkins, Katie McGrath

The Jurassic Park franchise will be re-launched a decade later with Jurassic World. For longtime fans, this is something to look forward to. Although the trailer has gotten mixed reactions, this is one of the most anticipated reboots of all time.

8. Terminator Genisys :

Release Date: July 1, 2015

Director: Alan Taylor

Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, J.K. Simmons

Revisiting the first (and best) two Terminator films, this movie is an attempt to salvage the franchise. The oddly named but ambitious Terminator Genisys overlaps the unfortunate sequels Terminator 3 & 4 along with the Sarah Connor Chronicles TV series and establishes a brand new timeline.

7. The Fantastic Four

Release Date: August 7, 2015

Director: Josh Trank

Cast: Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell, Toby Kebbell, Tim Blake Nelson

Even before the trailer for The Fantastic Four released, it made it to the list. The trailer was impressive and intriguing. Knowing this is the beginning of a new franchise – that’ll crossover with the X-Men franchise eventually makes it all the more exciting.

6. Ant-Man

Release Date: July 17, 2015

Cast: Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Corey Stoll, Judy Greer, Hayley Atwell, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña

Marvel’s littlest Avenger may have a very big impact on the cinematic universe, paving the way for the beginning of the hugely anticipated Civil War in 2016. Ant-Man not only aims to share another origin story about a theif becoming a hero, but will take viewers back in time to meet two of the founding members of the original Avengers from Marvel Comics.

5. Inside Out

Release Date: June 19, 2015

Cast: Diane Lane, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Mindy Kaling, Kyle MacLachlan, Phyllis Smith, Lori Alan, Lewis Black

What if your emotions were actually controlled by little individuals inside your brain, and what if they were in conflict? Insert a hilarious screenplay and animations from Pixar and we’ll soon found out in Inside Out, a story about a girl named Riley who must deal with the emotions of moving to a new home in a new city and going to a new school. Disney and Pixar have the most innovative minds on the project, continuing to intrigue the minds of people from every age. 

4. Furious 7

Delayed to 2015 due to the tragic passing of star Paul Walker, the Fast and Furious family reunites for their toughest challenge yet, the brother of Fast & Furious 6′s Owen Shaw who aims to get his revenge against Dominic Toretto (Diesel) while Toretto’s crew also seeks their own revenge for what Ian Shaw (Jason Statham) did to Han in a scene that bridged the current set of films with Tokyo Drift, the third entry in the franchise.

3. Mission: Impossible V

In Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise scaled the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa tower. You can expect him to do anything humanly impossible in the sequel. The star continues to redefine what action stars can do as he returns to the role of Ethan Hunt in another exciting adventure.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes come together again to launch into the 2015 summer season. This movie barely missed the number one spot.

It’s the movie that 90’s kids have been waiting for their whole adult life, Star Wars 7!  Ever since, Disney acquired Lucasfilm and announced they would continue the saga back in late 2012. It’s no surprise that it is the most anticipated of 2015.

MY FAVOURITE GUITARIST!!!

"Come on! Move already" I whined under my breath, eagerly waiting for the clock to tick 10 O' clock.

As soon as the clock ticked, I could hear my guitarist start playing the guitar and I ran towards the window with the familiar excitement running through me. I stood by the window, listening to another one of my favourites being played, with my eyes closed like I was in a trance.

It was "Khamoshiyaan" this time.

And I was shifted to another world. Where music was my oxygen and it felt like I wouldn't able to breath if the guitar stopped playing. The way the strings were being struck was suffocatingly perfect. 

For a moment I was scared of what was happening to me. But then, nothing seemed to matter much as long as the music was reaching my ears. It was floating in the air, keeping my mind at ease and at the same time, making several emotions twirl. It was so hypnotising that I didn't realize that I was swaying my head to the music.

The song came to an end and I sighed in disappointment. As usual, I craved for more. One would think I'm addicted and it might actually be true.

If only they could play more than just one song.

Every night I hear someone play a song in the apartment beside mine, at the same time, 10 O'clock. 

Eventually it became a part of my routine. I wanted to know who my guitarist actually was but me lacking social skills didn't help much. Yes, I am that girl who doesn't even know who lives beside her house.

                         The whole guitar thing started a few months back and is going on everyday. And I never missed. Not once. I wouldn't miss it for the world. And all of them being my favourites made it even more...interesting. It's like they have my playlist. Once the thought that they might have had my playlist did pop up but I immediately dismissed it feeling stupid, knowing that it's impossible.

I fell onto my bed still thinking about my favourite guitarist and let the sleep embrace me.

I know who it was. Yes, I do.

It was a guy, just a few years older than herself and also handsome, if I might add. And the truth is, he does sort of have her playlist.

Creating a Knowledge sharing culture!!!

"Knowledge increases by sharing not saving"

                                      “culture is the integrated pattern of human behaviour that includes thought, speech, action, and artifacts and depends on man’s capacity for learning and transmitting knowledge to succeeding generations.” Learning and transmitting knowledge is one of the prime aims of Knowledge Management.

Why Sharing Knowledge is Important:

1. Don't ever think you know it all ... because the fact is ... you don't.

                      Arrogant people think they know it all ... or at least pretend they do. So they often want to start at the top. They want a position that recognizes their extra-special talent. But it's not only stupid, it's also counterproductive.

2. Don't ever think you're above hard work ... because you aren't.

                                        I'm sure you know some people who are big on talk but short on action. They like to talk about all the things they're GOING to do but never get around to DOING anything. Those are the difficult kinds of people who love books like "The Secret" because they seem to imply if you just think good thoughts you'll get whatever you want.

3. Don't ever think you're better than others ... because you're not.

                                                           "If you're going to quit your job and blame others, you will spend the rest of your life eating hot dogs. If you want to chow down on lobster, you will have to become accountable for your own actions."       

The Role of Technology:

                         

                                 Technology plays a crucial transformational role and is a key part of changing the corporate culture to knowledge sharing one. In many ways it is technology that has made knowledge sharing a reality – in the past it was impossible to share knowledge or work collaboratively with co-workers around the globe. Today it is a reality.

Technology is not all good however. There are many pitfalls to its effective use. Information overload is one that comes readily to mind. Flaming wars (destructive heated electronic arguments) is another. Time wasting - browsing irrelevant stuff is yet another.

If implemented well and if people are trained and educated in its use, knowledge sharing technology is good. Not only can you find the information and knowledge you need quickly and effectively but you can post your knowledge on the system for access by others in the organisation - be they at the next desk or on the other side of the world.

                    Christmas or X’Mas is celebrated every year to mark the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. The day is the start of the Christian liturgical year and initiates the 12 days of Christmastide. The whole event ends after the twelfth night and is celebrated by both Christian and non-Christians with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.

                   Christmas is also the time when people exchange gifts and greetings. The traditional messaging these days is replaced with WhatsApp messages which are an easy way to greet your loved ones. Messaging is an unique way of showing love and a great opportunity for everyone to let people know you care about them.

                      Right from the radiance of the twinkling Christmas tree to the thoughtful gifts beneath it; from the fun associated with Santa's stealthy way of making everyone happy, to the wonderful carols and songs people sing – there is something beautiful about this day.Festivals like Christmas is a perfect time and occasion to send warm wishes to our loved ones.

                    Whether it is a way to praise Christ, who was born on this day, or to rejoice the human emotions of solidarity and oneness the occasion entails; whether we talk about the white snow, jingle bells, or the shopping craze associate with the season - there is something overwhelmingly uplifting about this holiday.

The Oyster

There was an oyster once

whose story I tell,

Who found some sand

Had gone into its shell

It was only a grain,

But  gave him a great pain.

For oysters have feelings

Although they are so plain.

Now , did he berate

Harsh workings of fate

Did he curse the government
